Do the following to isolate the problem to the system internal modem:
For TP 390E - (2626)
- Boot from and start PC Doctor. (See 'PC Doctor System Diagnostics' for details.)
- Select Diagnostics.
- Select Other Devices.
- Run Modem Loopback Test and Modem Dialtone/DTMF Test.
- Follow the instructions in the message window.
- If the test detects a modem problem, replace the modem card.
For TP 390/i Series 1700 - (2626, 2627)
- Go to the Startup menu by selecting Modem Dial and Data Transfer in the diagnostics diskette.
- Follow the instructions in the message window.
- If the test detects a modem problem, replace the modem card.
