Abort RIPL - does not abort the RIPL (Onboard Ethernet Controller)
If pressing the HOME key to Abort RIPL (Remote Initial Program
Load), does not abort the RIPL and
- The system is an IBM Netfinity 3500 (8644-1xx/2xx/3xx)
- The Onboard Ethernet Controller is NOT connected to the LAN,
or the connection is faulty.
Then connect the Onboard Ethernet Controller Port to the LAN.
If a there is a good LAN connection, the Abort RIPL works and
the next device in the Startup Sequence is tried.
But if the cable is disconnected or faulty, the system waits
indefinitely until a valid LAN connection is detected before
continuing to RIPL.
