The 3431 is designed to be attached to any system using a single ended interface meeting the SCSI-2 Standard ANSI XT39/89-042 operating with a burst data rate of 4MB / sec.

OS/2 3431 Support Software

Make sure that IBM OS/2 V-2.0 is installed on the fixed disk that was used to start the computer.
Open the OS/2 System folder.
Open the System Setup folder.
Be sure the correct drives are indicated in the source and destination entries.
Click on Install.
After the install program finishes, use the OS/2 shutdown procedure and Reboot the computer.

DOS 3431 Support Software

Make sure that DOS V-3.3 or higher is installed on the diskette or fixed disk that was used
Turn the computer on and wait for the operating system to start.
Insert the Option/Device Driver Diskette into drive A.
At the command prompt type A:UINSTALL and press Enter. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the optical drive software.
Reboot the computer.

Status Light

The status light remains on until the end-of-status phase. Normal Blinking ° Random blinking of the status light indicates media read or write activity. ° Blinking in a pattern of up to 9 blinks indicates an internal fault. Normal Fault
