Type 85xx Computers

- Models 25, 30, 33, 35, 40, 56, 57, 76, 77 ,85, 90 and 95 Override Jumper:

The override jumper is located on the system board .

  1.  Move the jumper so that it connects the center pin on the pin on  the opposite end of the connector.
  2.  Power-on the computer. The password is erased from the memory. (Leave  the jumper in that position until the next time you reset the password.)

- Models 55SX, 65SX Override Jumper

  1.  Locate the speaker cable and the connector that it plugs into.
  2.  Unplug the speaker cable, turn it over (180°), and plug it back in.
  3.  Power-on the computer. The password is erased from the memory. (Leave  the jumper in that position until the next time you reset the password.)

- Models 50, 60, 70 and 80 Override Jumper

  1.  If on the speaker assembly are two BERG pins, short this pins together  (with a jumper).
     If the speaker assembly does not have BERG pins, insert a meter lead into the  cable connector and short the other end of the lead to frame ground (Power supply).
  2.  With the assembly shorted, power-on the computer. This erases the power-on password.  Remove the short after POST is finished.

- Models P70 and P75 (8573) Override Jumper

  1.  Locate the two PINs nearby the SIMM (MEM 4) memory connector.
  2.  Place a jumper (short) on this PINs.
  3.  Power-on the computer. (The password is erased from the memory)
  4.  Remove the jumper after POST is finished.
