The PC provides a dedicated I/O channel for connecting a hard disk drive. The signals that are provided
by this connector include the 16-bit data bus, address lines A0 to A2, IRQ14, and -IOCS16. These signals
operate in the same way as the normal I/O-channel signals.
The address decode logic for the hard disk drive is on the system board. On a valid decode
of A0 through A15 equal to hex 01F0 through 01F7, -CS0 (hex 0170 through 0177, -CS2 for a secondary
hard disk drive) goes active. On a valid decode of A0 through A15 equal to hex 03F6 through 03F7, -CS1
(hex 0376 through 0377, -CS3 for a secondary hard disk drive) goes active.
