This allows for eight-speed reading at the disk hub and sixteen-speed reading at the disk edge.- For 24X Max CD-ROM drives, the disk hub and disk edge speeds are 10 and 24.
- For 32X Max CD-ROM drives, the disk hub and disk edge speeds are 14 and 32.
- For 40X Max CD-ROM drives, the disk hub and disk edge speeds are 17 and 40.
