Note: To diagnose a problem, first find the BIOS error messages in left column. If directed to a check procedure, replace the FRU indicated in the check procedure. If no check procedure is indicated, the first Action/FRU listed in right column is the most likely cause.

  -CAUTION- There are two warnings with POST messages as below:

  1.  Checking NVRAM:
     NVRAM is being checked to see if it is valid.
  2.  Update OK!:
     NVRAM was invalid and has been updated.

   GA20 Error 1. System board
   On Board Parity Error 1. System board
   Parity Error  
   Off Board Parity Error 1. Remove all adapter cards that are NOT
      factory-installed, then reboot the system.
   Cache Memory Bad 1. Check CPU speed and system board DIP switches.
  2. System board
   CMOS Battery Bad 1. Enter BIOS Setup and load the
   CMOS Battery Low     default settings.
   CMOS Checksum Error 2. CMOS battery.
   CMOS Setting Wrong 3. System board.
   CMOS display type wrong 1. Ensure the system configuration set in
      BIOS Setup is correct.
  2. Enter BIOS Setup and load the
      default settings.
  3. CMOS battery.
  4. System board.
   CMOS Date/Time Not Set 1. Ensure the time set in BIOS Setup
      is correct.
  2. CMOS battery.
   Memory Size Decreased 1. Insert the memory modules in the DIMM
   Memory Size Increased     sockets properly, then reboot the system.
   Memory Size Change 2. Memory module. See the Step 005 of Memory
      to replace memory module.

   FDC Failure 1. Diskette drive cable/connection.

   A: Drive Error 1. Enter BIOS Setup and load the
   B: Drive Error     default settings.
  2. Remove all adapter cards that are NOT
      factory-installed, then reboot the system.
   DMA Error 1. Ensure that the diskette drive is not set to
      [Write Protected] in the Security Options in
      BIOS Setup.
  2. Load default settings in Setup.
   Primary Master HDD Error 1. Enter BIOS Setup and load the default
   Primary Slave HDD Error     settings.
   Secondary Master HDD Error 2. Check IDE drive jumper. See
   Secondary Slave HDD Error     3.5" Hard Disk Drive Jumper Settings
  3. IDE hard disk drive power.
  4. IDE hard disk drive cable/connection.
  5. IDE hard disk drive.
   Primary Master Drive Error-ATAPI 1. Corresponding drive in not an ATAPI
   Incompatible.     device.
   Primary Slave Drive Error-ATAPI 2. Run BIOS Setup to make sure device is
   Incompatible.     selected correctly.
   Secondary Master Drive Error-ATAPI  
   Incompatible.

   HDC Failure 1. Hard disk drive cable/connection.

   Keyboard is locked 1. Re-connect PS/2 keyboard and mouse.
   Keyboard Error 2. Enter BIOS Setup and load the default
   Keyboard Interface Error     settings.

   No boot device available 1. Re-connect with devices
  2. Make Sure devices (FDD, HDD, CD/DVD-
      ROM) are bootable.
  3. Enter BIOS Setup and load the default
      settings.
  4. Reboot the system
   NVRAM/CMOS/Password cleared 1. Turn off the system and remove the jumper.
   by Jumper 2. See Power-On Password
   <CTRL_N> pressed 1. CMOS is ignored and NVRAM is cleared.
  2. Enter BIOS Setup and load the default
      settings.
